Maserati GranCabrio prepares for debut in 2024

CarBuzz spy photographers only show the 2023 Maserati GranTurismo convertible (aka GranCabrio) in the snow. These photographs stick to a new rumor claiming that the GranCabrio will hit the market in 2024, the same year the coupe is expected to go on sale.

This is our first official look at the hooded counterpart of the GranTurismo; Maserati shared images of a camouflaged GranCabrio last year, but the photographs were dark and didn’t show much detail. While this check mule still carries a Maserati-themed camouflage envelope, it’s our most productive look yet for the 2024 GranCabrio.

To no one’s surprise, the GranCabrio is almost the same as the GranTurismo, except for the roof. Maserati opted for a classic fabric convertible roof instead of a folding steel retractable roof, a move we’re helping to maintain a more vintage style. Wheels and exhaust holes, this seems to be the Trofeo version, the toughest petrol GranCabrio that will be available.

We expect the GranCabrio to offer the same 3 versions as its coupe brother. Both the Modena and Trofeo will get Maserati’s 3. 0-liter Nettuno V6 biturbo engine that generates 490 hp and 442 lb-ft of torque or 550 hp and 479 lbs. -ft of torque, respectively.

As for the Folgore, this style will be based on 3 electric motors, one located in the front and two in the rear. Together, they will generate more power than gasoline styles, 760 hp and 996 lb-ft of torque. The coupe edition can reach 60 mph in just 2. 7 seconds, so we think the GranCabrio will be a few tenths slower.

The price of the GranTurismo Modena starts at $174,000, while the Trophy costs $207,000. We don’t yet know how much the Folgore costs, but we expect the GranCabrio to be more expensive than its coupe counterpart.
