Mercedes-Benz and Hyundai rank first in their respective segments

TROY, Mich. , Jan. 9, 2024–(BUSINESS WIRE)–While overall satisfaction with the automaker remains stable, satisfaction among electric vehicle (EV) buyers has increased since the last volume of summer 2023, according to the J. D. Power. Comparative Study of U. S. Manufacturer WebsitesUSA2024: Winter, released today. Specifically, of the six brands that saw significant increases, five have larger EV portfolios.

“Previously, automakers struggled to provide the generation specifications of their electric cars in a way that customers could easily understand,” said Eric McCready, director of virtual responses at J. D. Power. “Today, the tide has turned as the EV buying experience has increased. In the future, brands that lightly distribute attention and updates across all vehicle types will see increased vehicle customer satisfaction.

J. D. Power’s American Web Site Evaluation Study is a biannual study that measures the satisfaction of visitors to automobile manufacturers’ websites during the acquisition process of new vehicles by searching for four metrics. key (in order of importance): information/content; visual appeal; navigation; and speed.

Study Classifications

Mercedes-Benz ranks highest among premium manufacturer websites with a score of 751. Tesla (749) ranks second and Cadillac (737) ranks third.

Hyundai ranks first among major manufacturers’ internet sites with a score of 728. GMC (727) and Kia (727) are tied for second place.

The U. S. Automaker Website Evaluation StudyThe U. S. Securities and Exchange Commission, originally published in 1999, is based on responses from 12,481 new vehicle buyers who imply they will be looking for a new vehicle in the next 24 months. The study was conducted from October to December 2023.
