Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola to win back-to-back Emirates FA Cups

Manchester City will face Manchester United on Saturday in the Emirates FA Cup final at Wembley, in a rematch of last season’s showdown.

Pep Guardiola’s City won 2-1 in that instance and if they manage to do so this weekend, they will get this trophy for the first time in their history.

And after winning the Premier League title last weekend, Guardiola’s team has the opportunity to sign United and Arsenal on the list of clubs that will win 3 league and cup doubles.

The match will kick off at 3pm and will be broadcast live on BBC One and ITV1.   Find out where you can see how our global email list adapts here.

Guardiola said:

“It’s an absolute privilege to be here with the chance to win this magnificent trophy again. Last season we played United here in the first Manchester derby in the Cup final. Coming back less than 12 months later, facing United again. It’s amazing. I know you’re excited about this game and I know how much it means to all of you.

“We’ve prepared very well this week. We studied United and our educational sessions were very good. My players seem focused and ready. I can’t wait for him to start getting in shape.

“It’s never easy to get to the final. Hundreds of groups start the festival and each one needs the same result. We had to win five very difficult games to be here today and we have already given a lot. We had to fight and I have to take the last step here today and return the trophy to the Etihad.

“Honestly, winning this trophy in 2019 and 2023 were two of the most productive days I’ve had as a football coach. It’s a historic festival and it’s an honor to be a part of it. We will surely do everything we can to win this trophy again today and make our enthusiasts proud, I promise you.

“Enjoy the game. “
