A man recovers in the hospital following a police chase in the Hunter area.
Approximately today (Thursday, August 27, 2020), officials attached to the Port Stephens-Hunter police district were traveling along Port Stephens Street on Raymond Terrace when they tried to avoid a Suzuki motorcycle.
It is alleged that the motorcycle did prevent it and that officials began a chase.
Soon after, the bicycle crashed into a ditch at a roundabout at the intersection of Port Stephens Street and Bourke Street.
The cyclist, a 29-year-old man, was treated at the scene before being transferred to John Hunter Hospital to have a serious leg injury healed.
He remains in police custody of the hospital in solid state.
An investigation has been opened into cases related to the turn of fate.
