Man Faces Charges After Crashing in Another Car Chase with State Police

ROCHESTER, N. Y. — A man is facing charges after crashing into another car during a New York State Police chase Tuesday night.

Dwayne Campbell, 27, is accused of fleeing from infantrymen after the crash at Reynolds Street and Columbia Avenue. Tune in to News10NBC at four p. m. to watch video of the crash that will be broken down by investigative journalist Berkeley Brean. You can stream the visualization here.

Campbell, a city resident, is charged with illegally fleeing a police officer, illegal possession of marijuana, obstruction of government and traffic violations.

Police say they tried to stop a jeep around 10:25 p. m. for a traffic violation. According to police, the vehicle was unable to avoid it, prompting a chase through several city streets. Eventually, the jeep and a vehicle not involved in the chase collided.

Police say Campbell was not injured and was taken into custody a short distance from the crash site. The driver and a passenger in the other car were transported to Strong Hospital with minor injuries. Campbell received a court fine.
