A man racing at Toyota Motor Manufacturing Kentucky in Georgetown died after being injured on the job Tuesday morning.
Scott County Coroner Mark Sutton said 39-year-old Diego Garcia was injured when “a heavy object fell from a forklift and struck him. “
Sutton said Garcia was taken to Georgetown Community Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. According to him, an investigation into how this happened is still underway.
Toyota said in a statement that the incident occurred around 11 a. m.
“We are working intensively and cooperating fully with all agencies and investigations into the incident,” he said. “Words cannot express our sadness for our colleague and our deepest condolences to his loved ones. “
