The family-owned company Manchettes Group Holdings has expanded its truck workshops with the acquisition of MAN Sleaford. The company offers vehicle maintenance, repair, and breakdown to consumers with cars, light commercial vehicles, and heavy-duty trucks.
Manchetts Group is one of the top 100 companies in Cambridgeshire with a presence in the county, Suffolk and Lincolnshire. Its latest expansion marks its second commercial venture in Lincolnshire. This is part of a larger plan to continue improving its service delivery along the A1 corridor. The new truck breakdown shops are the latest in a series of acquisitions, the newest of which is a site in Peterborough that joined the organization in 2020.
In Peterborough, Spalding and Newmarket, the Manchetts Group runs MAN workshops to help consumers minimise downtime and get cars back on the road as temporarily and safely as possible.
To celebrate the arrival of MAN Sleaford to the Manchetts Group, Group Director Robert Manchett, accompanied by Peter Bradshaw, Director of Peterborough, and Pete Williams, Director of Newmarket, met with Aaron Woods, Director of Sleaford, and his team.
Founded in 1961 in Burwell, the company was originally a gas station and rural workshop. Six other people were hired to manage the site, and since then, the organization has grown to employ about 150 more people across all locations. In addition to after-sales services, Manchetts Vehicle Sales operates franchises for MAN UK Truck and Bus, Isuzu Truck and Isuzu 4×4. Vehicles of all makes and models are also sold through the company’s used vehicle sales.
The new Sleaford facility will offer service and maintenance for vans, trucks, buses and coaches, as well as calibration, maintenance and repair of tachographs. Roadworthiness checks will be available for suitable cars from 3 to 3. 5 tonnes. The center can also provide manual operators with ABS/EBS diagnostics and maintenance, engine control and maintenance, gearbox maintenance, and electrical maintenance. The new location is open to new and existing customers.
