Lumax Cornaglia Auto Tech’s new Rs 30 crore plant opened in Pune

Lumax Cornaglia Auto Technologies (LCAT), a joint venture between Lumax Auto Technologies and Cornaglia, Italy, has expanded its operations in the country by opening a new production facility in Chakan, Pune.

The company manufactures antipollutants for the automobile industry, adding air filters and fuel tanks, among others, for two- and four-wheeled vehicles.

The new facility encompasses a total domain of 250,000 square feet and a dedicated in-house R&D laboratory of 7,000 square feet and is a one-stop solution to meet the comprehensive needs of international automotive brands for anti-pollution products in vehicles. An initial investment of more than Rs 30 crore made through the company.

It employs more than two hundred people, totaling 30 highly qualified and experienced engineers. The facility aims to meet the emissions product needs of the Indian automotive industry.

The Lumax Cornaglia Auto Technologies factory features state-of-the-art European precision machinery for high-quality production for a diverse product line of air filtration systems, snorkels, and blow-molded products such as air tanks. AdBlue (urea tanks), degassing tanks (expansion or coolant tank), etc. This factory will manufacture plastic fuel tanks for advertising cars for the first time. A unique and specialized generation of 3D blow molding products such as pipes and ducts will also be manufactured here. All products comply with CAFÉ and RDE standards.

LCAT has also entered the roto-moulding segment for manufacturing plastic fuel tanks, fenders, roofs, and mudguards along with design and development facilities.

It earlier had its manufacturing facility at Chakan with a smaller area of 32,000 sqft and in view of the increased business opportunities, the management decided to relocate the said facility to the above new and bigger facility.

The structure of the commercial vacant lot is environmentally friendly thanks to the solar panels that cover the roof, with a capacity of 990 KV and water recycling. In addition to sales, product management, studies and development, laboratory, machining and assembly, the new logo facility houses a giant warehouse to serve JIT to our valued customers.

With this new facility, LCAT will enhance its current production capacity by almost 40%, in a phase-wise expansion.
