To complete the launch of its Lucid Air sedán in production on Wednesday, automotive start-up Lucid Motors has also released more teaser images than it calls Project Gravity: an upcoming SUV built on Air’s electric propulsion platform. The electric SUV has been in progression and testing for some time, however, it is our clearest official look at the back and proportions of the new model.
No wonder the Gravity uses the same design language as the Air sedán, with a very undeniable front component marked through a giant “light sheet” that incorporates the Lucid badge and headlights. At the rear, the SUV changes the Air’s enveloping rear window to a more traditional, straight window and trapdoor. The rear finish also features a spacious set of singles for taillights and a minimalist design.
Obviously, the position and proportions of the SUV are the largest air outlet. The new style is superior to the sedán with more free space on the floor. It is known whether the SUV is wider than the Air, which is already narrower than a Tesla Model S.
Like the sedán, the SUV features a contrasting silver roof with a windshield that climbs almost up to stand B for a sense of light and aeration. The vertical shape of the concept’s roof rails comes with a low-profile uncompromising luggage rack. Between that, the higher rear shipping area and the probably giant garage area under the hood, in fact there will be plenty of trunk and trunk to bring debris.
Aerodynamics is for any electric vehicle and especially for Lucid Motors designers. It will be attractive to see the extent to which the class-leading aerodynamic resistance coefficient of 0. 21 air sacrifices to the gravity’s front top profile. what effect aerodynamics (and, we assume, the additional mass of the SUV) will have on the prospective battery life of 517 miles of the powertrain when supplied with Lucid’s largest 113 kilowatt-hour battery.
We plan to learn more about the Lucid Project Gravity SUV concept of the car manufacturer’s live presentation on Wednesday, so we’ll update the main points as they appear.
