Looking for new developments in the U.S. production industry? Major expansion plans go up sizzling

I was surprised, I admit. The last six months have not been good for production. As it has done with almost all other industries, the new coronavirus has taken a giant component of production as the same as always and has not significantly loosened its control. The lack of paintings continues to result in layoffs or layoffs. Supply chain outages continue to disrupt production for many, even if there is a need. Ensuring the protection of an office is a confusing exercise.

And again. Despite COVID-19, a normal network of plans to expand primary production in the United States has been announced in recent months. And through significant, I mean big. To borrow a great alliteration from a colleague: in the context of a calamity, I expect a contraction, but here we are with much of the opposite: a significant expansion. That’s what surprises me.

Here are some main points about the extensions I’m talking about:

At the end of June, Navistar International Corp. inaugurated (virtually) what the truck manufacturer says is a 900,000-square-foot plant in San Antonio capable of generating Class 6-8 advertising vehicles. Of course, it will be supplied with the newest and largest production advances, such as cloud analytics, high-precision production, and virtual factory principles. Potential jobs: 600.

About two weeks later, packaging manufacturer Canpack Group, based in Krakow, Poland, announced that it had acquired assets in Pennsylvania to build a beverage aluminum can factory and a center of excellence in North America. The length of this business, according to the Pennsylvania Governor’s Office, is 908,000 feet.

Then came Tesla, which announced its 2020 quarter 2020 profit call that it would build its next Gigafactory near Austin, Texas. In fact, CEO Elon Musk said on July 22 that some initial paintings were already being made on the 2,000-acre site, which will produce the company’s Cybertruck and semi, as well as the Model 3 and Model Y for the eastern part of North America. The new site will generate more than $1 billion in capital investment, according to the governor of Texas. The length of the plant is not entirely transparent to me, but with this type of investment will be considerable. In addition, the site will be an “ecological paradise,” Says Musk.

Finally, last July, Nikola Corp. held an official opening rite in Coolidge, Arizona, at a 1 million-square-foot production facility. The site will produce zero-emission Class 8 trucks, the manufacturer said, incorporating the latest duest technologies while ensuring “the smallest environmental footprint imaginable.” In addition, Nikola says the Arizona facility will eventually generate more than 1,800 full-time posts and about $600 million in new capital expenditures.

Yes, those are just 4 examples, but they are 4 main investments. And yes, they do not decrease the loss of production jobs, some permanent, related to the pandemic. And, in fact, these investments have been made since long before COVID-19 was known.

But stay. See for what they are: long-term production investments in the U.S. And, in my opinion, shared at a time when we can all gain advantages from smart news. I am very happy to see the new technologies on which we write and put into effect new amenities that can make full use of your promises. I applaud ads that come in popularity and attention to the environment. And I suspect we’ve learned from the pandemic that will be incorporated into these primary commercial investments.

I recognize that the culmination of these announcements is largely in several years, however, I accept the news today.

Like I said before, I was surprised, but it’s a delicious surprise.

Let’s take a look at a platform in action.

During COVID-19, a main question that plant managers struggle with is: “How can I ensure the protection of a must-have staff while allowing them to perform their duties and quality standards?”

The technology in the form of a connected frame platshape can have answers. A platshape of connected paints joins virtual technologies such as cloud, mobile devices, smart glasses, AI/ML and drones to allow frontline staff to have a highly intelligent, effective and context-sensitive paint force.

To find out how, let’s take a look at an existing connected personnel use case to see a platform in action in the existing COVID-19 crisis. Andy, a new frontline painter, begins his day at the house where he plays a virtual self-assessment of fitness. Your employer’s paint platform determines Andy’s risk point. If you discover that Andy is safe, the formula generates a fitness barcode and allows you to move to the site.

At the factory, Andy scans his barcode with his cell phone, which transmits a magazine with his fitness data to the company’s environmental, fitness and protection teams. A head terminal (smart lenses) is then placed to be received at the factory. Andy now operates in hands-free mode. Receive voice commands with visual commands and step-by-step guidance through internal maps that tell you the location of other colleagues. The internal mapping application designed for him a direction for his first project in order to further embrace social distance protocols.

While Andy targets the defective appliance or asset to begin his initial order of day paints, he also gets data on the spare portions he wants to pick up at the store. Before starting the repair, he won vital protective orders. Since Andy is new and has no significant experience at the factory, he has a live two-way video call with his manager to get valuable hands-free training. Andy also receives visual and step-by-step commands to help you complete the task successfully.

A connected paint platform is a dynamic cellular procedure that can provide greater speed and accuracy to the protection of frontline painters. By using mobile devices, maintenance, and operations, staff can perform non-public fitness checks and place paint orders. Decision makers can view real-time assignment data to document incidents, formulate action plans, factor more paint orders to solve problems, and track progress to ensure maximum performance and protection. The end result has a perspective on the suitability of frontline painters, productivity, increases accurate compliance reports, reduces the threat of incidents or infections, and provides a greater sense of security.
