Lewis Hamilton escapes from the Ferrari in Barcelona

Lewis Hamilton has crashed out of his second test for Ferrari in Barcelona in a setback for his preparations for the F1 2025 season.

After their first departure as Ferrari Motive Force in Fioran last week, arrangements F1 2025 F1 of the Scuderia moved to the Barcelona-Catalunya circuit for a personal moment this week.

After sharing driving responsibilities with teammate Charles Leclerc on Tuesday, Hamilton crashed while taking his position on Wednesday morning.

The seven-time World Champion is believed to have been unhurt in the incident, with a long delay expected before Leclerc takes over this afternoon.

Trackside reports claim that Hamilton has lost SF-23 car in the last segment of the Spanish Grand Prix Place, which includes two high-speed right turns.

The last sector of the Barcelona circuit restored its original high -speed design in 2023 after a Chicana in 2007.

However, it is unclear whether Ferrari will now rethink their plans for the final day of the test in light of Hamilton’s crash.

Ferrari is expected to return to Barcelona next week for a Pirelli tire test, in which Hamilton will have a rare possibility of driving the 2024 car of the team.

Under F1’s rules, only cars older than two years are allowed in TPC [Testing of Previous Car] tests to prevent teams from gaining a competitive advantage for the current season.

However, Hamilton and Leclerc will lead a “mule” car called the SO, in fact, a highly changed edition of the SF-24 chassis, to Pirelli in the progression of new tyres for F1 2026.
