MILAN (Reuters) – Lancia said on Monday it would unveil its new Ypsilon small car in February, the first of three new premium models promised through the logo as part of a multi-year recovery plan under which it will once again support car sales. outside doors Italy. .

After shrinking to a single model in its domestic market, the 117-year-old brand, a component of Stellantis, also plans a midsize crossover in 2026 and a compact sedan in 2028, both fully electric.

The new Ypsilon will first be presented as an all-electric edition in a limited edition of 1,906 units, Lancia said in a press release.

The car will go on sale in Italy before the summer of next year and will also be available as a mild hybrid. Sales in other European markets will follow.

The new Ypsilon will be built in Zaragoza, Spain, on the same platform as several Stellantis models, adding the Jeep Avenger, Fiat 600, Peugeot 208 and 2008, and Opel Mokka and Corsa.
