Lancia expands Stellantis logo in Europe with Ypsilon EV

Lancia, a subsidiary of FCA Italia, a subsidiary of Stellantis (NYSE: STLA), will exit Italy in February when the automaker launches its third-generation Ypsilon.

The small vehicle will debut with a limited edition all-electric variant. The limited series of 1,906 units will be the brand’s first fully electric Lancia, as well as the newest style to offer an internal combustion engine variant.

As part of the ten-year “Renaissance” strategic plan, Lancia has underlined its commitment to exclusively offer fully electric cars from 2028.

For now, Lancia offers the existing three-door Ypsilon, which debuted in 2011.

The vehicle is built on the Mini platform, initially developed through Fiat Chrysler Automobiles before the merger with the PSA Group, which resulted in the creation of Stellantis.

Notably, this is shared with the Fiat Panda.

Between January and October, sales of the Ypsilon increased by 8. 4% compared to the same period in 2022, reaching 37,731 units, according to dataforce market studies.

Dataforce also noted that in the premium small car segment in Europe, the Ypsilon took the third position, albeit with a limited festival on this specific Array.

Lancia chose the number 1,906 for the launch edition to celebrate the year the logo was founded (1906).

STLA shares were up 0. 24% early Monday morning.
