Lance Stroll asked about the future of F1 amid Aston Martin team’s ‘growth’

Lance Stroll responded diplomatically when asked if his family circle’s ties to control of Aston Martin meant he would likely stay with the team for the rest of his career.

Stroll’s father, Lawrence, is chairman and co-owner of theArray and the Canadian joined Silverstone when they were known as Racing Point in 2019.

Lawrence Stroll has overseen a massive investment in the team, with a new factory open for his workers and an on-site wind tunnel in production, but his son Lance has faced difficulties performing after his track fortunes improved last year.

Stroll bounced back from a twist of fate on a motorcycle to start the season despite a quick recovery from two broken wrists and a broken toe, and performed well at the start of the season.

But overall, his deficit to Fernando Alonso throughout the year is cause for concern, with Stroll looking this season for new concepts on how to get along with his two-time world champion teammate.

With most of the grid out of contract at the end of the year, the prestige of Stroll’s deal with Aston Martin is considered ongoing and his seat is considered safe if he competes well with Alonso.

But he asked in AMR24’s statement if any other seats would ever take him away from Aston Martin, and if the fact that his father owned the team meant he would likely stay as long as he wanted.

Stroll, however, would be forced to respond.

“I’m focusing right now on this year,” Stroll told the media, adding to PlanetF1. com, when asked if it was “obvious” that as long as his father owned the Aston Martin team, he would occupy one of the seats.

“I am driving in green and I am very motivated, but also excited and satisfied to be part of this task that we are carrying out in AMF1.

“You know, we’ve grown a lot as a team over the last five years. There have been a lot of very talented people here long before Aston Martin, and along with a lot of those talented people, a lot of other new and talented people have recently joined the team in recent years.

“We’ve been given this new factory now, we’ve been given a wind tunnel under construction, and the only thing I’m thinking about is how exciting these times are at Aston Martin, and then, you know, I’ll be ahead of it. “and focused on next season.
