Business tycoon and vehicle enthusiast Gautam Singhania on Wednesday pointed to Lamborghini’s safety concerns after a moving high-end luxury vehicle caught fire on Mumbai’s coastal road.
No injuries were reported in the incident that took place around 10:20 p. m. , police said.
Gautam Singhania shared a video of the luxury car engulfed in flames on X (formerly Twitter) and said, “Incidents like this raise serious concerns about the reliability and safety standards of Lamborghini. For the price and reputation, one expects uncompromising quality – not potential hazards.”
The Raymond Group chairman also asked other people to think twice before buying a Lamborghini, “given the arrogance of its Indian dealership. “
Several videos of the luxury car on fire have gone viral on social media.
A fire official said a fire truck rushed to the scene temporarily and the fire was put out in about forty-five minutes.
No information is yet known about the number of people inside the car or the cause of the fire.
Regarding the protection of such a high-end car, a recall crusade on Lamborghini’s official online page states: “Lamborghini’s duty to protect it lasts over the years. In fact, we are committed to constantly checking the correct operation of cars throughout their life cycle. The progression of new responses to improve the quality of Lamborghini models on the road allows us to launch good enough recall campaigns when necessary.
Last week, a moving house in Mohali, Chandigarh, caught fire, with no casualties or injuries.
The car was being driven by a private-sector employee who was returning to his home in Sector 88 after having dinner at Phase-3B2.
Fortunately, the occupant managed to escape the fire unharmed. But the car was completely destroyed by the fire.
