Less than a week after opening pre-orders to stalwart PlayStation fans, it seems that those with a long history on the platform eager to play their old games on the new console will be disappointed.
PlayStation has already introduced “top-down compatibility” on new consoles that allows you to play games you might already own in an old one.
Shortly after the release of the PS3, the ability to play PS2 and PSone games to reduce costs was removed.

The PS4 had no backward compatibility, which was because of the replacement in the x86 processor architecture, such as the one used on desktop computers, making it difficult to emulate older consoles.
It is preserved on the PS5.
In March, Sony said the PS5 would have an “inherited mode” capable of PS4 games.
Console architect Mark Cerny said “the maximum of all” of PS4’s top hundred most popular titles would be to take advantage of this mode.
A few days later, Sony Senior Vice President Hideaki Nishino did an extra and said that “the vast majority of more than 4,000 PS4 titles can be played on PS5” and that the company is “currently comparing title-by-title games with identifying any issues that require adjustments by original software developers. “
The PS2 is the most popular console of all time, but you’d better have one if you need to play one of its games.
But those who make plans to play older PS3, PS2 or even earlier titles will be disappointed by a detail that will turn out to have been revealed through a popular editor.
The Ubisoft FAQ page was recently added and then removed a note on backward compatibility.

“PlayStation four players will be able to sign up for multiplayer games with PlayStation five players. Backward compatibility will be available for supported PlayStation four titles, but will not be imaginable for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 2 or PlayStation games,” the FAQ says.
