Today, KODA AUTO has manufactured its thirteen millionth transmission of the existing generation. Currently, the Czech car manufacturer manufactures MQ/SQ100 and MQ200 transmissions for the Volkswagen Group at its main plant in Mlada Boleslav, while the direct transmission DQ200 is manufactured at the Vrchlab plant. These are fixed on ‘KODA’ models as well as cars manufactured through other Volkswagen Group brands.
Michael Oeljeklaus, board member of the production and logistics company, said: “Today we have reached the impressive milestone of the construction of thirteen million exchange boxes of existing generation. This production point is the result of our team’s ultimate experience and formidable team spirit. As a result of these strengths, the production of KODA AUTO parts has often gained strategic importance and has become a key pillar of the group’s inter-brand production network”.
Christian Bleiel, head of component production at ‘KODA AUTO’, added: ‘Our mlad-Boleslav and Vrchlab plants are among the most modern and effective production sites in the automotive industry. Our gearboxes meet the highest quality requirements. Making these transmissions our complex high-tech apparatus requires many years of delight and a higher point of competence in the equipment component. Thanks to innovation, uninterrupted optimization, automation and, above all, digitization, we are making decisive progress in factor production at KODA. »
Currently, the total of 3 types of transmissions are manufactured through KODA AUTO, which are used in the KODA of the Volkswagen Group and other cars. Since 2000, the MQ200 five-speed transmission for cars with a 1.0-1.6-litre petrol engine has been manufactured at its main plant in Mlad-Boleslav; Since 2011, the MQ200 also exists as a six-speed gearbox. More than 7,590,000 of this type of transmission have been built to date since the start of production in 2000. Production volume lasts to 2,000 transmissions.
The MQ100 / SQ100 transmissions built in Mlad-Boleslav since 2011 were originally designed for the ‘New Little Family’ models of the Volkswagen Group and were originally installed in the ‘KODA CITIGO’, the VW up! and the Seat Mii. With the exception of the VW up !, these models are now available exclusively with an all-electric propulsion system and, as a result, gearboxes are now basically used in the ‘KODA FABIA’ and other small Volkswagen Group cars powered by a 1.0-litre Array petrol engine in August 2020, the number two million MQ100 / SQ100 transmission exited the Bole mslave plant.
Since 2012, the DQ200 7-speed automatic transmission (DSG) has also been building the DQ200 automatic transmission at its component factory in Vrchlab. At a speed of 2,300 games constantly per day, to date more than 3,300,000 DQ200 have been manufactured. This transmission is also installed in the KODA as well as in the cars of the other brands of the Group. In 2019, KODA AUTO has built approximately 1,125,200 transmissions; the average daily production volume for all models is approximately 4,800 games.
