Knights and Jays Split Double Dip

WEST POINT – The Guardian Angels’ core Catholic women and Norfolk Catholic children earned victory Thursday as the defense dominated the night.

The Lady Jays forced 28 turnovers from the Lady Knights en route to a 14-3 lead and an eventual 57-31 victory. Jocelyn Skoda led the GACC with 12 points, while Charlie Dinslage scored 11 points and Kelsy Steffen led the way with 6 rebounds. Avery Yosten led all Norfolk Catholic scorers with 9.

The Knights guys followed the same plan, as their defense forced the Blue Jays to spit the ball out early and often, taking a 7-0 lead after the slide and winning five 4-40. Max Hammond was Norfolk’s top Catholic scorer with 17. and Nolan Fennessy followed with 16 problems and five blocks. Konnor Kralik led all Blue Jays in scoring with 19.

The Norfolk Catholics (girls 3-3, boys 2-3) return home against Winnebago on Tuesday, while GACC (girls 4-2, boys 3-3) host Wayne that same night.
