Fresh off the launch of the EVO38 “Integrale”,
Kimera Automobili introduced styling encouraged through the former Lancia 037. The Kimera K39 marks the company’s first racing car, featuring a carbon fiber monocoque and competitive aerodynamics. This “hyper-restomod”, digitally presented in the iconic Martini Racing colors, is ready to take on the international climb of Pikes Peak in 2025.
The Kimera K39 was first announced last year, along with a comic strip and a 1:5 scale prototype, giving a glimpse of what was to come. Today, the company revealed its finalized external design, taking inspiration from the Martini Racing Team’s iconic “Silhouette” race car that had a dominant presence in the World Sports Car Championship in the 1970s and 1980s.
More: One-Off Kimera EVO37 is a natural Martini craze
The K39 retains the quad circular LED headlights of the EVO37 and EVO38 restomods, but the rest of the bodywork has undergone a redesign. Its maximum feature is the elongated tail, which features a really extensive two-stage rear wing, full-width LED taillights, and a triple Capristo exhaust fixed above the motorsport-derived diffuser.
On the front, the model features a pronounced chin with an oversized opening and deep vents in the hood. The fenders are noticeably wider and incorporate air intakes and built-in air vents, while the wheels play with modern tires. In addition, there is an air intake on the roof and antennas derived from the engine.
Kimera did not elaborate on the technical specifications of the K39, but indicated that the race car will be based on a carbon fiber monocoque chassis and will feature “an engine that will make noise and hear its climb. “This obviously shows that the styling is not electric, which also follows from the exhaust pipes.
It’s reasonable to assume that the K39 will outperform the EVO37 and EVO38, with a more powerful engine and competitive chassis configuration. The Kimera EVO38 currently produces six hundred horsepower (447 kW / 608 horsepower) and 580 Nm (428 lb-ft) of torque, distributed over all 4 wheels, an all-wheel-drive formula derived from motorsport.
Along with the launch of the new model, Kimera also announced its ambitious creation goal. The company aims to tackle the overseas rise of Pikes Peak in 2025, with the aim of proving that its functional functions are much more than a dream.
Even more intriguing is the fact that Kimera is exploring the option of a “legal for circulation” condition aimed at a collectors’ organization of its own. This exclusive production space would provide access to an incredibly limited and exclusive edition of the K39. Hopefully, there will be enough interest among enthusiasts to see the K39 on the road as well.
