After initiating Kia’s transformation, the EV6 will receive an update. Kia’s new EV6 is expected to make its official debut in June, and the GT sports car will launch this fall. Here’s what we know so far.
Unveiled in March 2021 as the first committed electric vehicle, the EV6 helped Kia identify a new logo identity.
However, three years later, all-electric vehicles from most automakers have hit the market. In recent years, EV batteries and software have become complicated as automakers rush to introduce new features.
The 2024 EV6 starts at $42,600 and is one of the best-selling electric vehicles in the United States. The entry-level Light RWD offers a range of up to 232 miles with a spacious and dynamic interior ride.
Kia has also added a cheaper and longer “Light Long Range” edition for the 2024 style year. Starting at $45,950, the new edition offers a range of up to 310 miles. For $49,850, you can get the AWD edition.
After unveiling three new models at its first annual EV Day in October, it became clear that the EV6 needed an update.
Along with Kia’s next-generation EVs, which add the EV3, EV4, EV5 and EV9, the EV6 doesn’t have the brand’s new design theme. You can see that the EV6 lacks narrow LED headlights and other improvements to the front.
We saw some of those innovations after the new EV6 was spotted in the wild. Despite the camouflage, MOCAR’s video shows the redesigned headlights.
You can see how the electric car comes with larger, elongated headlights, like those on the EV4. This comes deliberately with its new Star Map beam.
We’ve noticed the revamped GT edition after being captured earlier this year via HealerTV. According to the journalist, the new EV6 GT has a forward bumper and a “mechanical” grille.
It is expected to be supplied with Hyundai’s new Active Air Skirt (AAS) to provide functionality and diversity at top speeds.
Installed between the bumper and the front wheels, the AAS is concealed at low speeds. When traveling over 50 mph, the unit deploys to increase tracking force and control.
Both models are expected to feature Kia’s next-generation Connected Car Navigation Cockpit (ccNC) with two 12. 3-inch screens.
Like the new Hyundai IONIQ five, Kia’s EV6 is expected to come with an 84 kWh battery, up from 77. 4 kWh. The larger battery increases the diversity of the IONIQ five in Korea from 28 and five miles (458 km) to 301 miles (48 and five km). .
According to TheKoreanCarBlog, the refreshed EV6 will officially debut in June, followed by the GT edition in September.
