Just ahead of the playoffs, Kia is rolling out a new feature for EV9 owners, which will allow them to create their favorite NBA with traditional in-house demo themes.
Whether your team is the Golden State Warriors or the LA Lakers, you can traditionalize your vehicle display with traditional colors and logos. You can also greet and dismiss them with sounds.
The EV9’s 12. 3-inch tool cluster features the colors and logos of all 30 NBA teams. Are you a fan of the Golden State Warriors? Your screen will display the team’s iconic blue and gold.
Maybe you’re more of a Lebron fan with the LA Lakers. You can have your EV9’s screen display the purple, gold, and black color of the equipment used on game night. NY Knicks enthusiasts can demonstrate the team’s famous blue, orange, and blue colors. and white (pictured below).
“That’s just a clue,” said Steven Center, Kia America’s chief operating officer and executive vice president. The NBA’s custom themes are the newest as the automaker works to introduce new features and traditional features to make EVs even more exciting.
Kia began rolling out live updates for traditional NBA EV9 demo themes earlier this month and ahead of the playoffs that begin on April 20.
The EV9 is the first Kia to take advantage of over-the-air updates thanks to its new Connected Car Navigation Cockpit (ccNC) infotainment system. NBA themes will be available for $39. 99 according to the team through Kia’s Connected Store virtual features and services. You can unlock it through the Kia Access app or the Kia Owner Portal.
Kia’s first three-row electric SUV is off to a strong start in the U. S. It is the largest in the U. S. , with more than 4,000 units sold through March.
After the EV9 was belatedly unveiled last year, Kia called its initial value of less than $55,000 (not including destination) a “red flag” for the industry.
Although the EV9 ships from Korea, Kia plans to move production to the U. S. U. S. Highway Patrol next month. By building the SUV at its West Point, Georgia, plant, Kia expects the EV9 to be eligible for the federal vehicle tax credit.
At 197. 2″ long, the EV9 is longer than the Kia Telluride but has the same height (70. 1″) and width (77. 9″)
It also includes 42. 8 inches of rear legroom, which is more than the Cadillac Escalade and Range Rover P400 3-row. It’s not that the EV9 is one of the most sought-after in the U. S. U. S.
