It plans to use a strategy known as three-dimensional bioprinting, already used in medicine, to reproduce meat in a way that, according to the company, halve energy consumption, uses a hundred times less land than classical agriculture, and emits 25 times less greenhouse gases.
KFC has partnered with Russian 3-d Bioprinting Solutions, a laboratory created through Russian Medical Invitro.
Manufactures bioprinters and food printers between projects.
Co-founder and CEO of the company, Yusef Khesuani, said 3-d bioprinting is becoming popular for food production as global food trends change.
“In the future, the immediate progression of these technologies will allow us to make 3D-published meat products more available and we hope that the generation created as a result of our cooperation with KFC will drive the release of cell generation. Meat products on the market,” Khesuani said.

“We largely follow all the latest trends and inventions and are doing everything we can to maintain speed by introducing cutting-edge technologies into our food-eating networks,” said KFC Russia MANAGING director Raisa Polyakova.
“Artisan meat is the next step in the progression of our ‘restaurant of the future’ concept.
“Our delight in testing the generation of bioprints in 3-d to create bird products can also help solve several imminent global problems,” he said. “(KFC) is pleased to make a contribution to its progress and is working to make it accessible to thousands of people in Russia and, if possible, around the world.”

The company claimed that bioprinted meat contained the same microelements as “the original product” (chickens, animals), but argued that it was better.
KFC states that bioprinting harms animals and also prevents “several additives used in classical agriculture and livestock”.
Some might argue that the “various additives” used in classical agriculture and livestock referred to here are only used for about 50 to 100 years, thanks to the rise of commercial agriculture to meet the demand for reasonable meat, in particular KFC.
KFC’s Australian online page said that “by no means” the company would use “artificial hormones or steroids.”
He said the company “demands the highest standards of animal welfare” from its local poultry suppliers, who must be members of the Australian Chicken Meat Federation.
The company stopped human antibiotic-fed chickens in the United States in 2017 for fear of antibiotic resistance.
He has also experimented with herbs in the past.
