Karma took advantage of the context of this month’s Monterey Car Week 2024 to present the Ivara, a concept that anticipates the brand’s first SUV.
The concept also marks a shift in strategy in which Karma will offer electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles.
Karma describes the Ivara as a “great touring application vehicle” and its design obviously suggests a vehicle that is more at home on the road than off it. Karma said the concept also features the brand’s new design language, especially the front trim that features hidden headlights and lacks a grille.
The production edition is expected to launch until the end of 2027 and could first arrive first as a plug-in hybrid and electric option later on, which will depend on how the EV market develops. in such a popular hybrid configuration similar to the one presented through Karma in the Revero sedan.
Unlike a traditional plug-in hybrid or parallel plug-in hybrid, a series plug-in hybrid uses its gasoline engine as a generator to recharge the battery when diversity decreases. The merit is that a smaller battery can be installed and more diversity can be added by refueling.
Karma Ivara Concept
Karma is a California company born from the remains of the original Fisker Automotive company. Their first model was the 2017 Revero, which was a highly updated edition of the older Fisker Karma plug-in hybrid series. Karma has now evolved a third generation Revero that will begin selling later this year. Production will be capped at 150 games and costs will start below $150,000.
The third-generation Revero features a pair of electric motors on the rear axle that deliver a combined output of 536 hp, and a BMW 1. 5-liter turbocharged inline three-cylinder engine sitting in the front that serves only as a generator for the battery. Karma estimates a drive of 80 miles on the battery alone and more than 360 miles on the fuel engine used.
Karma Gyesera
Karma is also planning high-looking electric cars in the form of the Gyesera sedan and the Kaveya sports car. The beautiful sedan was unveiled in March at the 2024 Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance and was originally expected for this year, though Karma frontman Marques. McCammon in an interview with Automotive News (subscription required) about Ivana’s reveal, hinted that the Gyesera could simply be swapped out to be compatible with the company’s stock plug-in hybrid powertrain.
“We have listened to the market and we are exploiting our flexibility,” he said. “You will see adjustments to the Gyesera platform that the market will respond well to. ”

The Kaveya will launch in 2026 and will offer up to 1,000 horsepower with an electric powertrain, according to Karma. The value will be around 300,000 dollars.
At Monterey Car Week, Karma showed off the Kaveya with its production interior. The company also said that Kaveya will be a generation of software-defined vehicle (SDV) evolved with Intel. An SDV is just a vehicle with software and hardware that allows it to be up-to-date via the cloud, potentially for its entire lifetime.
