May 7, 2015 – The NBA announced today that Jimmy Butler won the 2014-2015 NBA Kia Most Improved Player Award. In his fourth NBA season, Butler posted career highs in goals, rebounds and assists, and also reached the NBA All-Star Game for the first time as a reserve for the East. The most improved player award was created to recognize a promising player who has made a dramatic improvement in recent seasons. Butler is the first bull to win the award since its inception in 1985-86.
“We’re all very proud of Jimmy. He deserves this award,” said Chicago Bulls general manager Gar Forman. “He’s incredibly motivated and it’s wonderful to see that all the paintings he’s made pay off for him and us.”
In 2014-15, Butler had his most productive season in the nba, improving his score from 13.1 to 20.0 problems consistent with the game (15th in the NBA). His 6.9-point upgrade in 2013-14 was the highest of all players who played at least 40 games in each of the more than two seasons. He also increased his basket shot by 6.5% (.397 to Array462), who ranked the moment (Harrison Barnes with 8.3%: Array399 to 482) among all players with at least six hundred box placement attempts in each of the more than two seasons.
Overall, the 25-year-old home of Tomball, Texas, played 65 games (all beginnings) and averaged a maximum of 20.0 ppg, 5.8 rpg, 3.3 apg and 1.75 spg (11th in the NBA) in a 38.7 mpg league. Posting a total of nine games with 20 or more problems in its first 3 seasons (191 games), he produced 34 of those games, adding seven games with 30 or more problems, last season.
As a component of the Kia NBA Performance Awards, a series of cash functionality awards, this award was made in our decisions through a panel of sports reporters and announcers covering the NBA. Players won five problems for each, one vote for the first position, 3 problems for each, one vote for the moment position and one point for each, one vote for the third position. Butler won 92 of the 129 first-place votes (71.3 percent) and 535 issues in total; Draymond Green of Golden State was the moment with 11 votes for first place and two hundred issues overall.
