Jigcar, a start-up founded through three former Cazoo team members, has announced a £750,000 pre-seed led through Concept Ventures.

Industry leaders such as Hendy Group, Motorpoint, Carwow, Impel and Cox Automotive participated.

Jigcar aims to increase stock turnover, reduce prices, and enjoy visitors to dealership teams across multiple locations through logistics optimization.

Despite launching in January 2024, Jigcar has gained popularity among the UK’s top 50 dealers, and already has franchise teams such as Glyn Hopkin, Steven Eagell and Perrys Motor Group.

Its AI-powered solution manages and optimizes logistics processes across locations, internal drivers, trucks, and third-party logistics providers through an internet platform and mobile app.

This displays functionality and charge data from across the organization, which are key elements in ensuring a successful logistics strategy at the organization level.

Co-founders Elliott Perks, Rupert Wood and Jackson Jacob created Jigcar to address the lack of a specialized logistics solution in the automotive industry.

He combines his automotive logistics experience at Cazoo with the software experience of giant SaaS [software as a service] corporations like Personio and Fonoa.

They have since strengthened their team with the motorsport experience of Jon Pollock as advertising director (ex-Nissan, Toyota, McLaren) and Simon Bottomley (ex-COO of Hendy; current COO of Vindis) as non-executive director.

Perks, who is CEO, says Jigcar allows dealers to implement effective logistics methods in other models.

“We are excited to realize our vision of automotive logistics software.

“A group-level logistics strategy is imperative to achieving a successful omnichannel sales style and Jigcar is here to achieve it, whether a group’s logistics are completely outsourced, completely in-house or a hybrid of both.

“Integrations with key players in the ecosystem are at the center of our strategy and we look forward to sharing more about this soon. “

Jigcar is already demonstrating what a software-based organizational logistics strategy can offer.

Its first customer, Glyn Hopkin, saw significant innovations that added 1. 2-day relief in car usage time, enabling an additional profit of more than £200,000 thanks to increased inventory sales, as well as expected six-figure savings in logistics prices this year alone.

Dean Quy, commercial operations director at Glyn Hopkin, said: “With Jigcar, Glyn Hopkin has invaluable visibility into our operations spanning all 34 locations.

“In fact, this has revolutionised our logistics management, paving the way for smoother operation and greater collaboration within our automotive group. “

Oliver Kicks, Partner at Concept Ventures, explained why the corporation invested in Jigcar: “At Concept, we spend most of our time with founders with deep experience in the field, a strong sense of product, and an ambition to build a company of global significance.

“Elliott, Rupert and Jackson have what we have the experience and capabilities to solve the great global challenge of logistics and planning within car dealership groups. “
