Based on Stellantis’ STLA Large platform, the Wapassneer S develops up to six hundred horsepower and 617 lb-ft of torque. According to Jeep, it will travel “more than three hundred miles” on a single charge.
After the Wagoneer, Jeep will launch its Recon styling powered by the Wrangler. The Recon brings the spirit of the Wrangler into the EV era with features like removable doors and windows.
Jeep will also launch a new Renegade EV for under $25,000. According to Carlos Tavares, CEO of Stellantis, it will reach key markets including the United States and Europe.
We’re told a new Jeep EV is in the works and will debut before the end of 2024. Speaking to Auto Express, Jeep UK managing director Kris Cholmondeley said the new Compass would be unveiled in November.
The new Compass EV will be presented in hybrid, PHEV and all-electric versions, in line with Jeep’s “freedom of choice” strategy.
Although the Wagoneer S is Jeep’s first global electric vehicle, Cholmondeley said he’s “even more excited” about the upcoming Compass.
Jeep’s UK managing director believes the new styling will be key to gaining market share. The Compass EV is expected to lead Jeep’s resurgence in Europe as it belongs to one of the top segments.
The Compass EV will be based on the STLA Medium platform. Launched in July 2023, Stellantis claims that the platform offers more than 700 km of WLTP diversity with a suite of functionalities. The package offers a WLTP diversity of more than 500 km.
Like the Wagoneer S, the Compass EV is expected to launch with a “Trailhawk” edition or more rugged styling to rival the Land Rover Defender.
Jeep will prioritize the Compass in Europe and the United Kingdom, with its launch in 2025, ahead of the Wagoneer S and Recon.
