It’s no surprise that the Jeep lineup is complete with popular crossovers and SUVs; after all, it’s the M. O. of this brand, which has built its reputation on the basis of physically powerful off-road machines. However, a report from experts south of the border suggests there will be one less platform in their ranks next year.
According to Automotive News, Jeep resources have hinted that its smallest vehicle, the Renegade, will be removed from its Canadian and American lineup after this 2023 design year. This shouldn’t come as a general surprise to those who have been paying attention to the numbers. of Jeep sales, as Jeep sales volume has fallen precipitously since its arrival in calendar year 2015. Sales of the Renegade will reportedly continue in countries such as Mexico, Europe and South America.
In fact, Jeep Canada’s existing build and pricing tool shows the Renegade as one of the only cars that doesn’t have the option to choose the 2024 style year, the other being the recently defunct Cherokee. In recent years, the value of the Renegade has increased. skyrocketed, now the price is $38,090, just a thousand dollars less than the Compass. Through the end of the third quarter of 2023, only 171 Renegades had been sold, down from a portion of last year and only a fraction of any other vehicle in the Jeep lineup. for Canada.

By contrast, the Compass found 4,661 homes, while the Wrangler found 15,689 buyers. Even the gigantic Grand Wagoneer saw another 578 people open their wallets in the same period. Oh, and by the way, Fiat has sold 32 new 500X models in Canada so far. this year, if you’re wondering.
Why mention the 500X? Because expert readers will realize that the Renegade is built in the same vein as the Fiat, a vehicle that currently accounts for one hundred percent of Fiat’s new car supply in this country for the 2023 design year. If its close brother heads for the door around those pieces, it leaves curious minds wondering what it portends for the Italian logo and its only product (noting, of course, that the 500th electric coming to Canada will appear in a reveal tomorrow).
