BEIJING (Reuters) – Sales of Japanese automakers in China increased more than 10 from the previous year in July, as the world’s largest car market continued its recovery.
Nissan Motor Co said Wednesday that its sales in China increased by 11.6% last month from the previous year to succeed in 120,945 vehicles. China is a market that Nissan is focusing on as the troubled automaker struggles to resolve the unrest of the competitive expansion of the overthrown leader Carlos Ghosn.
Toyota Motor Corp. sold about 165,600 last month in China, up 19.1% year-over-year. Of the total, 22,300 came here from its high-end Lexus brand, which recorded a 38.6% increase in sales from the previous year.
Honda Motor Co announced Wednesday that it had sold 136,646 cars in China in July, up 17.8%.
