It will see a change made at the Sayer Drive plant
Jaguar Land Rover has been given the green light for new additions to its Coventry site. He had asked the city council for permission to make plans to make changes to the Sayer Drive plant.
The application explained: “JLR is a British multinational automobile manufacturer which produces luxury vehicles and sports utility vehicles. Due to internal changes and refits within the JLR facility, a temporary outside solution is required to ensure that employee welfare facilities are maintained for ease of use.
“This will consist of a separate office, canteen and toilet block, which will be temporarily on the Sayer Drive site until internal adjustments are completed. At this stage, modular constructions of transience will be eliminated. ”

But it’s not just about the transitional structure: the automobile giant has also asked for the green light for a new permanent structure. “This application also requests permission to install an unfinished modular construction to be used as a sentry box permanently,” he explained. “This construction will upgrade the existing entrance door, which is considered to no longer be fit for purpose as it has reached the end of its useful life and requires upgrading. ”
Council officers have given the green light to drawing up proposed plans. But this comes with a series of conditions.
One of them is that the portable office/dining and restroom buildings will be removed from the site no later than November 30, 2027.
