Jaguar Land Rover showed that 28 had tested positive for coronavirus at its Solihull plant.
The workforce isolates itself after instances increased from 4 to 11 in a segment of Lode Lane’s painting workshop; however, that number increased to 28 (Tuesday, September 22).
It is understood that 4 staff members in the cases shown repainted (September 23) after 14 days of isolation, leaving 24 at home.
JLR also said there have been a “small number” of “isolated cases” at its Castle Bromwich and Wolverhampton sites. The production giant is expected to check the number of cases soon.
A spokeswoman for JLR told BirminghamLive: “We, like the rest of the country, are seeing remote instances of Covid-19. We can verify that a small number of workers in our Solihull production plant have tested positive for Covid-19 and are -isolation.
“Through tactile studies and collaborating with Public Health England and Solihull Council, we’ve known who’s been in close contact with those other people in paintings and they’re also ingesting.
“The suitability of our remajors is our main fear and a thorough cleanup of doleading has been carried out. We continue to comply with all government and NHS recommendations. “
JLR stated that it had taken a number of steps to “protect our employees” when it returned to production with a smaller workforce in May.
It includes an in-depth review of all production lines, engineering facilities, spaces and common spaces to perform certain effective measures of social estating, hygiene and health.
He stated that the fitness and well-being of workers “is at the heart of this plan” and that, with the implementation of the new protocol, workers would revel in a significant amount of adjustments to their workday as soon as they enter the site. .
