Jaguar driver wanted for hit-and-run of fatal pedestrian in Laurel: police

LAUREL, MD — Police are asking for the public’s help in locating the driver of a dark gray Jaguar that investigators say fatally struck a pedestrian in Laurel on Sunday and fled the scene.

Duane Lyons of Laurel, 38, of Laurel, died after being struck by a pickup truck around 9:20 p. m. in the 13,000 block of Laurel Bowie Road, in the unincorporated segment of Laurel, according to Prince George’s County police. Officers discovered Lyons on the road suffering from trauma; He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Lyons was the father of two teenage daughters and lived near the crash site.

“My son died on the side of a road, and you didn’t even have the compassion to reach out to him and ask for forgiveness,” Lyon’s mother, Lisa Felton, told NBC Washington. “He’s a born comedian. He enjoyed his family. He enjoyed life.

Investigators said Lyons crashed in the northbound lanes of Laurel Bowie Road. The vehicle that crashed, believed to be a dark grey Jaguar, suffered severe damage to the front.
