Nissan’s 4-segment victories were the largest of all mass market brands in the 2020 APEAL studio.
The all-new Sentra 2020 was the most productive for Nissan, with 42 points above average in its segment (compact car). The new Versa 41 is ahead of the segment mean (small car); Maximum 30 editions ahead of the mid-segment (large car); and Armada 25 editions ahead of the average of its segment (large SUVs). This is the third consecutive win in the APEAL segment for the Nissan Maxima.
“To satisfy our visitors, it takes a combined effort in partnership with our brokers,” said Mike Colleran, senior vice president of marketing and sales at the U.S. De Nissan North America. “We are reorganizing our portfolio with cars that attract both design and performance, and our running partners are experts in meeting the needs of visitors, which equates to the right results of visitor satisfaction.”
“This is incredibly positive functionality of Nissan as they seek to revitalize the image of their logo,” said Dave Sargent, vice president of automotive quality at J.D. Power. “Eight of the 10 models ranked through Nissan achieved above-average performance in their segment, and 4 scored highest in the segment. The automaker is doing very well to delight its consumers when it comes to owning and driving Nissan vehicles.”
Now in its twenty-fifth year, the JD Power APEAL exam measures the emotional attachment and excitement of owners with their new vehicle in 37 attributes, ranging from the sense of comfort and luxury they feel when they are in the driver’s seat to the feeling they feel when stepping on the accelerator. These attributes are added to calculate an overall score of the APEAL index measured on a scale of 1,000 points.
