It can simply be said that we are now in the next wave of midsize SUVs. Also known as collector platform vehicles (PPVs), they were introduced via the second-generation Isuzu Mu-X when it made its world premiere in October 2020.
Since then, its rivals have gotten primary updates or, in the case of the Ford Everest, a complete styling change. With all-new versions of the Toyota Fortuner and Mitsubishi Montero Sport on the horizon, the Mu-X is far from the latest addition to the neighborhood.

To fight the tide, the Isuzu Mu-X gained a small design update at the end of 2022. This edition finally landed in the country at the beginning of 2023. Not content with that, Isuzu Thailand released teaser images of the facelift moment. and said that “it will come soon”.
Yes, it’s been barely two years since the first update, but the upcoming festival is going to get even harder. In the trailer, you might not see much more than a new light signature and, interestingly, a new variant.

What is the new variant, you ask? It’s called RS, and no, Honda doesn’t have exclusive rights to those two letters. The same goes for Porsche and Audi. De any case, we may be expecting a sharper look with this style, perhaps also exclusive styling details. It’s conceivable that Isuzu will adopt Toyota’s strategy of applying two different and distinct exteriors for a single styling line. Need an example? Just take a look at the popular Fortuner and the “LTD glance”.
So, what’s the exact release date? As mentioned, Isuzu Thailand does not mention anything. However, Thai car Autospinn claims it could be as soon as June 12.
