Isuzu D-Max wins Zimbabwe Car of the Year award 2020

The Isuzu D-Max remains a favorite in Zimbabwe, according to a recent vote in which Zimbabweans had to vote for their favorite vehicle.

Zimbabwe’s Car of the Year awards, which were presented behind last year, had to adjust the festival due to the Covid-19 pandemic, which hindered road tests and vehicle assessments. Isuzu D-Max won 56% of the vote, the Zimbabwe Independent Motoring Journal reported.

The Isuzu D-Max has been in Zimbabwe for several years and, according to the online automotive publication, the vehicle has remained a key player in creating and selling Zimbabwe’s love story with the “Van”, either as a workahoaholy and, like an entire recreational and lifestyle vehicle in life.

According to Alison de Klerk, senior distributor of Autoworld Zimbabwe, the Isuzu logo has earned its reputation over the years for its reliability, durability and capabilities.

“We are very pleased with the results as they demonstrate visitor confidence in the Isuzu logo and at our dealerships in the country. Over the years, we have worked hard to build visitor confidence and provide an unwavering degree of service,” De Klerk said.

More than a quarter of soft advertising cars (LVVs) sold each month in Zimbabwe bring the Isuzu brand. De Klerk said that despite all the demanding situations posed by the Covid-19 pandemic, 2020 a smart year for Isuzu sales in Zimbabwe.

“Our cumulative volumes at the end of July increased by 87% until 2019. We have achieved a 36% market percentage in the soft advertising vehicle segment and 28% of the new vehicle market overall, so our functionality has been robust, but there are still many paints to be made to finish 2020 in a solid position,” he said.
