Isuzu has unveiled its first electric vehicle concept, which will be showcased at the Bangkok International Motor Show in Thailand. This new prototype, which will be an electric edition of the D-Max van, is now available in India from Rs 11. 20 lakh. Isuzu is a Japanese company that plans to start production of the electric vehicle for Europe until 2025, but nothing is yet known about its availability in the market. The D-Max BEV concept is a little different from the regular pickup truck, with EV-inspired design features such as blue accents on the front air intakes and closed grille. Despite those changes, the pickup looks very much like the regular model.

Isuzu says its new electric pickup is powered by a 66. 9 kWh lithium-ion battery and has two electric motors, one on the axle. The front engine produces 54 hp and 108 Nm, while the rear engine produces 121 hp and 217 Nm, making a total of 174 hp and 325 Nm, more than the regular diesel model.
The Isuzu D-Max BEV has a permanent 4×4 formula and can reach a top speed of almost 130 km/h. Although we don’t know the exact diversity yet, Isuzu claims that it can tow a lot and has a forged structure, matching the functionality of the diesel model.

The electric van will be available first in Europe, followed by Thailand, the UK and Australia. Isuzu says it will market the vehicle based on people’s preferences and the expansion of EV charging stations. In addition to the electric concept, Isuzu unveiled a prototype called the D-Max Hi-Lander MHEV. This prototype has a turbodiesel engine and a 48-volt mild hybrid system.
