Ford unveiled a new high-performance electric truck ahead of the Ford Performance season launch event. Is this the Ford F-150 Lightning Raptor we’ve been waiting for?

The Raptor badge is reserved for Ford’s most successful models. It has appeared on Ford’s most iconic nameplates, including the F-150, Bronco, and Ranger.

Ford calls the 2024 F-150 Raptor R its “toughest and most capable” off-road pickup ever designed with 720 horsepower and 640 lb-ft of torque. But if Ford opted for an all-electric version, the instant torque would increase seamlessly. to outshine any gasoline model.

That’s where the Lightning comes in. Ford introduced the all-electric F-150 Lightning in 2021 with 775 lb-ft of torque, the highest of any F-150 to date.

Update: Farley has released a new update revealing the F-150 Lightning Switchgear. Ford says the Switchgear is “an all-electric pickup truck designed for off-road performance. “This is Ford’s newest EV demonstration model.

While the F-150 Lightning Raptor, the Switchgear looks like a rugged and capable off-road truck. As mentioned above, the Lightning’s strong instant torque is already an improvement on or off the road.

The new Ford F-150 Switchgear is based on the best-selling electric pickup truck with 37″ tires. Designed and built with RTR vehicles, the Switchgear takes the Lightning where it’s never been before with off-road upgrades.

To take care of the excessive terrain, the suspension uses 3-inch diameter Fox internal bypass shocks. It also includes exclusive front and rear bumpers for forward technique and departure angle.

Ford’s Switchgear also includes carbon composite front fenders, bed sides, and rear bumper cover. New steel fabricated rock rails and a front skid plate add to the vehicle’s off-road elements. Meanwhile, limit straps are added to help manage the suspension.

The electric truck is supplied with NITTO Ridge Grappler tires and a hunting stand with two spare tires.

Ford’s new Lightning Switchgear will be noticed for the first time on January 25 at the King of Hammers off-road racing event.

Ford recently updated F-150 Lightning prices. The 2024 Ford F-150 Lightning will now start at $54,995 with up to 240 miles range.

Ford also added a new Flash version with up to 320 miles of diversity, a tech-laden interior, a heat pump, Ford’s Tow Tech package and several other features. It will start at $73,495.
