Personally, I spent a lot of time on the 8 Series models, most of my time aboard the BMW M850i and BMW M8. Having driven them a lot, I can honestly say that the difference between the two cars is not big enough. That’s why Throttle recently asked the question: is the M850i bigger than the M8?

Both cars are incredibly fast. The BMW M850i uses its 4. 4-litre twin-engine V8 to produce 523 horsepower and 553 pound-feet of torque, while the BMW M8 Competition uses its own 4. 4-liter twin-engine V8 to produce 617 horsepower and 553 pound-feet of torque. The pair is the same for both cars, the M8 generates about a hundred more horses.

Of course, the M8 is faster in part than the M850i, but this partial moment is slightly noticeable in the genuine world, if it shows at all. 4 moments.

On the track, the BMW M8 is the funniest and sharpest car, but it’s not as much as you can imagine, given its Division M pedigree and extra power. In fact, this extra sharpness is so sophisticated that once back on the road, it disappears to the fullest. The BMW M850i is arguably the most fun car to drive on the road because it’s incredibly efficient, but it also has the rear wheel steering, which doesn’t make the M8, adding safe agility.

Then there’s the driving quality factor. The M850i is a comfortable car, with an elegant but planted ride, and it’s a laugh to drive it on public roads. The M8, however, can be stiff and jumping. It can be confusing in a car with enough power to make old F1 cars jealous.

So while the BMW M8 is a car, the BMW M850i is better, even if they are too expensive.
