In the competitive world of luxury cars, Infiniti has a habit of losing itself unfairly in battle. We say “unfairly” because there’s not much to hate about their vehicles, they just don’t leave much of a mark on those days. Perhaps this wallflower season is about to end with the reveal of the all-new 2025 Infiniti QX80, a striking luxury SUV that we can’t take our eyes off of.
The new full-size SUV is a hardware reboot for the Japanese automaker’s flagship passenger transport vehicle, the first of a primary lineup revamp that Infiniti calls its “product renaissance. “
While it retains some features of the previous car, the new SUV is less overweight than its predecessor and comes with sharper lines and a more chiseled overall exterior. All in all, it looks like a Range Rover and Lexus style.
At its core, the new QX80 is powered by a 3. 5-liter twin-turbo V6 that makes 450 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque, a double-digit buildup over the 5. 6-liter V8 it replaces. At the rear or on all four wheels, a nine-speed automatic gearbox.
The new SUV’s frame is 57% stiffer and can be equipped with air suspension, as well as an electronically controlled damper package that Infiniti calls its “dynamic virtual suspension” to reduce shock and frame roll. Its air suspension can melt and accumulate even more. The ride height increases to 2. 4 inches when you want to be sturdier, but it can also decrease a total of 2. 8 inches when parked to leave passengers hassle-free.
Inside the revamped interior are two 14. 3-inch screens that, among other things, work in tandem with multiple cameras to provide greater situational awareness. Its “wide front view” gives drivers the viewing angles needed to see around parked cars or skill. for better navigation in tight parking areas, while an “invisible hood view” allows for a virtual view of the terrain ahead, similar to that offered by the new Defender.
There are a number of protective features and luxury amenities, the ones that stand out when starting in the second row. Rear passengers can now enjoy front-row heating and cooling features, as well as massage features. This row is also supplied with biometric refrigeration. , meaning the car will measure rear passengers with an infrared sensor in the headliner and adjust climate controls to ensure their comfort.
