Innsbrook’s proposed truck parking lot, The Glades, will stop

RICHMOND, Va. — An assigned food truck in Innsbrook ran out of gas.

The Glades, which was conceived as a permanent food truck park intended to set up and serve office staff and families at 4991 Lake Brook Drive, is no longer on the table.

The abandoned plans were shown through Jane DuFrane, Richmond market leader for Highwoods Properties, which owns the Lake Brook site.

Phu Nguyen, the local entrepreneur who came up with the concept for The Glades, comments on the story.

In addition to the food trucks, The Glades needed a farmers market, live music and a playground for kids, as well as seating and décor. Nguyen said last year that he had planned to open it next to North Shore I. and the North Shore II buildings in mid-October. Nguyen had planned for The Glades to be a seven-figure investment and to be built in stages over time.
