Infiniti elevates luxury with the 2025 Infiniti QX80

Nissan’s luxury logo, Infiniti, is updating its logo with a number of new cars with high-tech features, starting with the 2025 Infiniti QX80, which goes on sale this summer.

The rugged three-row SUV made its preliminary debut ahead of the New York International Auto Show, which ends April 7.

“This is the most sumptuous and complex vehicle the company has ever showcased,” said Jose Roman, senior vice president and global head of Infiniti. He is also senior vice president of global sales for parent company Nissan Motor Co.

The engine is a 3. 5-liter twin-turbo V6 that makes 450 horsepower at 5,600 rpm and 516 lb-ft of torque at 3,600 rpm, tougher than the eight-cylinder engine it replaces.

Sticker price for the 2025 Infiniti QX80 starts at $84,445 for the “Pure” equipment and equipment package, $1,995 for destination and handling. The high-end “Autograph” category costs $112,590, with destination and handling.

Infiniti’s short- and medium-term product plan includes at least three more new vehicles, Roman said.

After the 2025 QX80, the Infiniti QX65. Il is a four-door crossover based on the Infiniti QX60. Two electric cars are also in the works, a sedan based on the Infiniti Vision Qe concept and a crossover based on the Infiniti Vision QXe concept.

The 2025 Infiniti QX80 is imposing, with a taller hood and external styling with long lines that get bigger from front to back. “Our new baby is big enough,” said Alfonso Albaisa, Infiniti’s senior vice president of design.

He said the luxury touches come with optional heated and ventilated seats for the first two rows and optional heated seats for the third row. “There are no bad seats in this vehicle,” adding the third row, Albaisa said.

Infiniti says the 2025 Infiniti QX80 is the first to offer customizable interior lighting with 64 other colors to choose from.

It also features speakers in the front headrests that are electronically configured so that, even without headphones, only front passengers can hear phone calls or turn-by-turn commands from the navigation system.

The concept is to disturb rear-seat occupants who might be taking a nap or listening to their own infotainment system. Infiniti calls this feature Individual Audio. ” You’re the only one who hears it,” Albaisa said.
