The Illinois Fighting Illini open the 2024 high school football season at 8 p. m. Thursday, August 29 against the Eastern Illinois Panthers at Memorial Stadium in Champaign.
Coach Bret Bielema and the Illini are coming off a 5-7 season in the Big Ten Conference. The Illini will play a bowl game in his fourth season as coach.
