If you’re traveling via public transportation and have checked the electronic reservation of a seat next to your ticket, you often expect to be able to sit in that seat, regardless of what happens on your trip. They are asked to move to accommodate other people, such as elderly or vulnerable people.
However, one woman insisted she would not give up her seat on a plane to a circle of relatives of three, as she blamed them for not “planning ahead” and reserving seats that meant they would be sitting together. Maresa Friedman explained that she had traveled in first elegance on a recent flight and had paid the full value of her ticket, which included a seat reservation she had booked.
But when she boarded the plane, a circle of 3-year-old relatives boarded and asked if she would be willing to replace them so they could only be combined, and she refused.
In a video uploaded to her @maresasd account on TikTok, she said: “I’m not the bad one for not leaving the first class seat I paid the full fare for. I’m mom too, so it’s called making plans ahead!”
And she captioned the clip: “I’m sorry, mothers and families, but as a mother, I’m a bad person for giving up my seat. “
The viral video prompted questions from other people in comments about the party that prompted Maresa to post the video, and she responded to them in a follow-up clip in which she detailed exactly what happened.
He claimed that the flight he was traveling on divided the first-class seats into pairs of seats with a hole between the two, and while two members of the family circle were sitting together, the third member of the family circle was placed elsewhere. As Maresa sat opposite the other two, she was asked to move to allow the 3rd member to sit with her circle of relatives.
But she didn’t budge and instead told them to ask other people in economic elegance (where the lines were longer) if they would like to move to first elegance to make room for the circle of relatives to gather.
She explained, “If everyone needs to sit together, in a row, because the first elegance is two seats and two seats, I’m sure they can really ask other people in the bulkhead seats. I think they would be super excited”. sit here so the 3 of them can be together!”
The mother of two said the family was not in favour of the suggestion, but insisted that other passengers had planned ahead when booking with the airline, as she had encountered similar problems abroad when travelling with her family. of four.
She said: “If you make an electronic booking with the airline, because it happened to us as a circle of relatives of 4 who were travelling together, they will pack your e-booking. The only time you can separate is if you miss a flight or a connection.
“Before he picked me up, I have two kids, so I went, and even at the beginning, I bought a seat next to me for my baby. You are traveling with a minor. That way, when they’re hunting to push people, they make sure to put them next to each other.
And then he added, “The few times I replaced seats in my life, it was horrible, never again. “
Commentators on Maresa’s videos were largely on her side, with many saying she would be allowed to stay in the seat she paid for without being forced to move.
One user said, “As a flight attendant, I completely agree with you! Some consumers are disappointed when they are told no and expect it to move them.
While another added: “Yes, I wouldn’t replace seats. Additional payment wherever I want. “
And a third wrote, “Making poor plans in its component is an emergency in my component. Equipment without seat change, especially for a more expensive seat!”
