Hyundai launches hydrogen truck mass

Hyundai has the world’s first automaker to launch mass production and export of hydrogen-fueled mobile electric trucks.

It now has an impressive diversity of greener cars ranging from electric cars to hybrid cars after mass production of hydrogen passenger cars in 2013.

Hyundai sent the new XCIENT trucks to Switzerland on Monday 10, which will grow to 1,600 by 2025, 40 more this year.

The 34-ton cargo trucks come with 476-horsepower engines and can travel up to 400 km on a full tank. They take only eight to 20 minutes to fully fill up.

Hyundai expects to sell them to Austria, Germany, Norway and the Netherlands.

The recipient is Hyundai Hydrogen Mobility, a joint venture with Swiss company H2 Energy.
