Hyundai needs to make driving an electric vehicle as easy as possible. All new and existing Hyundai electric vehicle drivers will receive a free NACS adapter to qualify for more than 20,000 Tesla Superraters. Here we explain how to get yours.
Starting in the first quarter of 2025, those who purchase or lease a new Hyundai electric vehicle must order a separate NACS charging adapter, plus shipping. This can be done directly through the MyHyundai owner portal.
Hyundai will offer loose adapters to owners of IONIQ 5, IONIQ 6, Kona Electric and IONIQ hatchbacks of the 2024 and earlier style year. The upgraded IONIQ 5, IONIQ 6, and Kona Electric 2025 styles are also eligible for the promotion.
Boyle added that Hyundai’s “goal is to make the transition to electric seamless.” The company said that its luxury Genesis brand will also be included in the program on Monday. More details, instructions, and terms will be announced shortly.
The offering comes as Hyundai’s new EV models, which add the refreshed five- and three-row IONIQ 9, come equipped with a local NACS port. The Hyundai IONIQ five 202five is the first non-Tesla electric vehicle on sale with a locally factory-installed NACS port.
Hyundai’s new IONIQ 5 features more range, new features, and a fresh style upgrade. The 2025 Hyundai IONIQ 5 starts at $43,975. That’s for the (SE RWD) Standard Range model with an EPA-est driving range of 245 miles.
Starting at $46,550, the IONIQ Extended Range Five offers up to 318 miles of EPA-rated range. Hyundai also offers a new XRT rugged version, at $56. 87.
Hyundai is coming off a record US sales month in November after IONIQ 5 sales more than doubled. With the upgraded model and new IONIQ 9 arriving, the Korean auto giant is poised to see even more demand in 2025. Hyundai will be a name to watch as the US shifts to electric.
