Hyundai said Wednesday that it named Motional as a joint venture with US autonomous generation company Aptiv. Both signed the deal in March last year with $2 billion in corporate capital.
Aptiv is a branch of global automotive parts supplier Delphi. Aptiv has amassed more than 100,000 accident-free trips to Las Vegas in self-driving cars since 2018.
Motional will work on automated driving technologies and expects to sell them to robotaxi corporations and fleet operators until 2022.
Boston-based company opened its Seoul in May, which will conduct automated driving tests in Korea.
