Hudson River car got rid of human remains investigation: police

The discovery of a car on the Hudson River off the coast of the town of Poughkeepsie, which would possibly be connected to a person he lacks, has triggered an investigation into whether the vehicle contains human remains, according to Private A.J. Hicks of the K-troop of the state police at Salt Point.

State police divers concerned at an educational training on the river on Thursday afternoon discovered the blue Honda with sonar. The discovery may be connected to a missing user case in 2008, Hicks said.

“When we pulled the vehicle out of the water, we didn’t know if there was a frame inside,” he said.

Hicks said the Dutchess County Medical Examiner’s Office investigates whether the vehicle contained human remains.
