While Lewis Hamilton remains a Mercedes driver, Ferrari chairman John Elkann quoted the seven-time world champion in a company letter to visualize the success.
Hamilton will sign for the Scuderia from 2025 and thus fulfil a dream from his formative years, but if he still has 20 races left as a Mercedes driver, the Ferrari boss is his importance as an example before his arrival.
Hamilton revealed that he and Elkann have been friends since they met at a Google Camp in Sicily, where influential figures from around the world meet each year, and that his long-standing ties to Ferrari team principal Fred Vasseur can be traced back to their arrangement. all the way back to his title season in GP2 in 2006.
If he can’t review Max Verstappen and Red Bull this season, Hamilton will head to Ferrari in search of an unprecedented eighth world championship, and Elkann cited the current Mercedes driver’s comments in a company letter explaining how they can be applied to the rest of the season’s business.
In a letter to shareholders of Exor, Ferrari’s parent investment company of which Elkann is chief executive, he said, quoted by Sky Italia: “Scuderia Ferrari offers a clever example of progress, as the new F1 season has featured several podiums.

“The goal is to continue to grow and to do so day by day, even more so next year when Hamilton, appointed by the president of La Rossa himself, joins the Scuderia di Maranello.

Carlos Sainz’s win in Australia is the only interruption to Red Bull’s dominance so far in 2024, with Hamilton signed to upgrade the Spaniard for next season on a multi-year contract.
