This Ford Escape arrived at GT Detailing covered in stains, trash and debris. Owner and operator Gabe Tyler explains 10 dirty car techniques in a whole new look.
The detail began by cutting the stained seats and floor mats. Gabe evaluates whether to remove the seat, based on the points under the seat or between the center console.
Once the floor was exposed, Gabe separated the customer’s trash cans and belongings, his hand to remove the larger pieces, and a vacuum cleaner to clean up the trash debris.
He cleaned the door jambs with a degreaser and brush, then went through a pressure washer to remove dirt or grime. This step is carried out at the beginning of the finishing procedure and before shampooing in case water splashes on the carpet.
A vacuum cleaner removed as much dirt and junk as you can imagine around the car, adding the floor, seats, and under the spare wheel cover.
After vacuuming, Gabe began the chemical cleaning process, from the most sensitive to the back to a double cleaning of chemicals and dripping soap. To remove stains from the roof lining, he used a spray bottle, a drill brush, and a microfiber towel.
He cleaned the mats from the floor very well with a washing machine of clothes and shampoo, then hung them to dry.
To repair the seats, Gabe used a steam cleaner, a dry brush and an exhaust fan to remove the stains. He prefers to use McCulloch vaporizers because there are several accessories to use.
Moving on to the carpet, Gabe sprayed a carpet cleaner and used a stirrer to bring the hidden to the surface, sucking it in with a Mytee extractor.
He steam cleaned the guide wheel and pedals with a brush. Steam cleaners remelt melted and dry dirt, such as candy and chocolate, to make it less difficult to remove.
He treated the door panels with a vacuum cleaner, a spray bottle, a steam cleaner and a microfiber towel. For plastic surfaces, Gabe works in small sections so that no area is missing. Once the plastic surfaces were clean, he implemented a plastic UV protector.
Gabe reinstalled the seats and floor mats in the car and cleaned the window, and the main points were finished.
