Houston Rockets and Harris County Clerk’s Office Announce Toyota Center as a Polling Station

HOUSTON – The Houston Rockets and the Harris County Clerk’s Office announced that the Toyota Center will serve as a polling center for the 2020 presidential general election. The Toyota Center will be open to the entire Harris County registered electorate from October 13-30 and Election Day on November 3. The opening hours will be seven days a week, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

“On behalf of the Houston Rockets and Toyota Center, we are revered to help our network by providing a convenient location for the Harris County electorate for the upcoming presidential election,” said Doug Hall, general manager and senior vice president of Toyota Center. “Voting is an incredibly vital right that many have fought hard for over the years and we would like to thank the Harris County Clerk’s Office for allowing the Rockets and Toyota Center to offer their support.

“Our November election will be historic, not only because we elect the president of the United States, but also because we will have to rise to the challenge as a network to ensure that every single voter in Harris County can vote safely.” Harris County said. “Harris County wants more polling stations than ever to settle for record participation while following strict security protocols to ensure the protection of electorate and election staff at the polls,” Hollins said. “We are grateful to the Rockets organization and the Toyota Center team for their paintings to serve the citizens of Harris County. With your help and that of other networked painting partners in Harris County, no voter will have to enter between protecting their physical condition and exercising their right to vote in November.

In an effort to stoke voter interest in the upcoming elections, the Rockets have partnered with I’m a Voter, a nonpartisan motion that aims to create a cultural replacement around voting and civic engagement. The Rockets partnered with Houston First to provide loose parking at the Toyota Center during the voting process.
