The Honda Prologue was the third best-selling electric vehicle in the United States last month, behind the Tesla Model Y and Model 3. With more than 25,000 models sold this year, Honda’s electric SUV has been a wonderful success.
After delivering the first Prologue to the United States in March 2024, Honda’s electric SUV has one of the most sought-after electric vehicles in the United States.
According to Cox Automotive’s most recent EV market tracking report, the Honda Prologue ranked as the third-best-selling EV in the United States in November. The electric SUV is only Tesla’s Model Y and Model 3 in sales.
With a record 6,823 Prologue models sold last month, Honda has sold more than 25,000 electric SUVs in the U. S. this year. That’s a big difference from having sold just one electric vehicle in the U. S. last year.
The 2024 Honda Prologue starts at just $47,400. With the $7,500 federal tax credit, however, prices fall to potentially under $40,000.
As the report notes, EV incentives hit a year-high last month at 14% of the average transaction price. Honda is no exception and offers up to $18,000 in lease money (including loyalty or conquest money) on the Prologue, which is about 37% off the manufacturer’s suggested price.
Based on GM’s Ultium platform, the Honda Prologue has a range of up to 296 miles. While it has the same foundation as other GM electric models, such as the Chevy Equinox and Blazer EV, Honda has added its signature design and features.
I predicted this after the October and November sales came out. This was not a surprising prediction, nor an incredible one, as it was enough to see that CT’s monthly sales obviously decreased than the prologue sales figure for those two months. It was kind of funny being attacked by CT supporters telling me I was a bad user for suggesting anything that was obviously impossible. What happened? CT pre-sales sold out, the 2 million order e-book disappeared, and more Honda prologues were available.
With a multi-link front and rear suspension, the Prologue has a “sporty” drive. It also features a different interior setup.
Inside, the Prologue includes an 11. 3″ infotainment formula and 11″ driver demo screens. Unlike GM, Honda’s electric SUV features wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Despite some claims that the EV market is slowing or cooling down, more than 116,000 electric cars were sold in the U. S. last month, up 10% from September. According to Cox Automotive, this is the second month with the highest volume of electric vehicles, achieving a market share of 8. 5%.
